Can we introduce ourselves?

Did you know that some risk factors prevalent in LGBTQ communities are putting us at a higher risk of cancer than the general population? At ACON, we’ve launched Can We to help do something about this. Here’s our story.

Who are we?

Can We is an important new brand that lives within the ACON family, and the heart of LGBTQ communities. A dedicated team with a dedicated cause here to change the conversation on cancer from one out of sight to top of mind. We’re a community platform committed to helping each other stay healthy and reduce our risk of cancer. We bring together the information, insights and ideas to help each and every one of us stay healthy. Ready to learn a little more? Let’s do this.

Why create Can We?

Australian and international research shows that a number of risk factors within LGBTQ communities are putting us at a higher risk of cancer than the general population. Studies have shown that as a collective, we’re smoking and drinking more. We’re also screening less for some cancers, particularly cervical cancer. Can we do something about this? Yes we can, and Can We is a great place to start.

One place for every conversation.

Can We is brought to life online through this platform, but also in person. From trusted healthcare providers to honest posts on social media, community events to screening clinics – Can We is for every cancer conversation from ACON, for our communities. You may be familiar with The Inner Circle or Our United Front, our LGBTQ cervical and breast screening campaigns. These LGBTQ campaigns have been a big success for the health of our communities, and we’re continuing this by bringing together their shared strength into a single conversation, and adding even more to it.

By creating one place for every cancer conversation, we can assure you that this is the right place for the right advice.
