We’re Here for Health Providers

Can We is not only for LGBTQ communities, it’s for healthcare providers too. That’s because at ACON we consider every healthcare provider to be part of our communities. Together, we educate each other. We help healthcare providers better understand gender identity, pronouns or specific requests when it comes to cancer screening. We’ve been doing this for more than 35 years, and time has taught us that a healthcare provider can make or break a healthcare experience. That’s why we work closely with providers to ensure they have everything they need to take the best care of our communities.

LGBTQ communities and cancer care

As part of our ongoing partnership ACON and Cancer Institute NSW have developed an LGBTQ+ Communities and Cancer Care eLearning module.

ACON Pride Training and eviQEd also adapted the training for clinical and non-clinical cancer service workers

The course is aimed at cancer service workers (both clinical and non-clinical) to enhance their knowledge, confidence and practice skills in LGBTQ care and respond to the unique needs of LGBTQ people with cancer.
