This Sydney Mardi Gras Fair Day ’26, ACON’s Can We is bringing cancer screening to you!
Drop by our pop-up cancer screening hub to get up to date on Australia’s four cancer screening programs. If you’re due to screen, overdue, unsure, or putting off screening, we’re here for any questions you have!
We’ll once again be offering FREE breast/chest screening and self-swab cervical screening with our trained health professionals in a safe, inclusive environment.
But that’s not all, you can also check out our inflatable CT scanner (aka glory hole) while learning all about Australia’s new lung cancer screening program.
Due, overdue or unsure about your next bowel screening test? We want to talk to you. We have playful merch and answers to all your questions.
Our communities can experience barriers to screening, and we want your help to change that one screen at a time.

Can We and BreastScreen NSW will be providing free mammograms (breast/chest screen) at Fair Day February 15, 2026, from 10 am – 5 pm. Victoria Park, Parramatta Rd Broadway on Gadigal Land.

Cervical Screening
Back by popular demand, we’re teaming up with Family Planning NSW, for the second-year running, to offer free self-swab cervical screening at Fair Day!
Our screening setup provides a safe, private, and supportive space for you to access the self-swab Cervical Screening Test, (no speculums) and other vital information.

Cervical Screening is walk-ins only – no need to pre-book.
Pre-Screen Checklist for Cervical Screening:
Before you swing by for your screening, please ensure the following:
- Check you are eligible for screening e.g. have a cervix, aged 25-74, and have a Medicare card.
- Know you’re in control with self-swab cervical screening. You can collect your own sample in the privacy of our exclusive portaloos.
- Please bring your Medicare card if you have one.
- We’re here to help if you need it. Please ask our team of community and health professionals!
- If you have symptoms, please see a healthcare provider right away instead of screening.
