Can we stay healthy?

We’re starting a movement, literally. Research has revealed that our communities are smoking and drinking more, and screening less than the general population, and this is putting us at a greater risk of cancer. The question is, can we do something about this?*

*Spoiler alert – yes we can! Discover Can We’s conversations on cancer below.

Cervical Screening

It's your Cervical Screening Test - OWN IT

Did you know that LGBTQ people are less likely to have cervical screening than the general population? Everybody with a cervix is at risk of cervical cancer. If you have a cervix, you need to screen. It’s that simple. 15 minutes every 5 years could save your life.

Quitting Smoking

Your next quit smoking attempt could go the distance.

Did you know smoking rates are higher for LGBTQ+ communities than the general population? Quitting cigarettes can be difficult (like your ex!), but every quit attempt is a step closer to stopping smoking for good. This could be the one.

Bowel Screening

It's time to get your kit together.

When it comes to bowel cancer screening in our communities, we need to get our kit together. If detected early, more than 90% of bowel cancer cases are successfully treated. For those eligible aged 50 to 74, the bowel cancer screening kit is free and delivered right to your door. Despite this, many of us are simply not getting around to doing the test and this is increasing our risk of bowel cancer. Don't delay. Do the test.

Breast Screening

Join Our United Front against breast cancer.

Our communities are drinking and smoking more than the general population, which are real risk factors for breast cancer. But we can do something about this. Our United Front is Can We’s conversation on breast cancer and breast screening, touching on the touchy subject, so that, together, we can stay healthy. Are you in?
